—  Artist Mentoring/Critique Group

The Artist Mentoring/Critique Group promotes the development of artistic processes, assisting in the formation of conceptual bases and in the construction of their individual poetics.

The Process
Directors and mentors of Artist Mentoring/Critique Group: Carla Chaim and Marcelo Amorim

Artist mentoring/ Critique Group aims to stimulate the production and development of artists' visual poetics based on criticism, practical and theoretical orientations.

Following a non-hierarchical dynamic, mentored artist present their work, portfolios, doubts and questions to the group receiving feedback from Carla, Marcelo and Nino but also from other group members, fostering a constructive debate for all. The meetings provide impulses for the creative process and help artist to enhance their visual repertoire and the conceptual bases that support the artistic production.

The weekly meetings trigger participant artists to actively work. In addition to that, the group encourages the production of individual projects and offers the opportunity to conduct experimental exhibitions in partnership with other art spaces. Thus, artists are invited to appropriate and learn their entire process - from daily life in the studio to the production and preparation of an exhibition.

Who Should Participate?
The Artist Mentoring/Critique Group is intended for artists, regardless of their background, seeking the development of their work and a critical eye on their own production.
